Please help us renovate a building into an inspiring dance centre where talented students learn lifelong skills and develop their creativity!
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We are Addict Dance Academy and deliver a BTEC course in Dance and Performing Arts for students aged 16+, our two year training program provides students an opportunity to learn new skills, not only in a wide variety of dance genres but also lifelong skills such as literacy, numeracy, business in the Arts, team work, leadership and teaching skills.
Due to our growing reputation and Addict's recent appearance on Sky One's Got To Dance, there is a growing demand for our services, which has meant we have out grown our current accommodation!
Moving to a new building would help us to develop a much needed creative hub in Leicester which will be able to extend its educational provision, as well as encourage more members of the community to experience dance and the arts.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Transforming this empty building into an exciting dance centre in Leicester City Centre, allows us to create a Studio Theatre space that all members of the public can get involved in; we will be able to increase our dance timetable and extend our services to a wider demographic of Leicester, including the elderly, wheelchair users, children, mothers and toddler groups, those at risk, and low income families.
This will encourage more people to get healthy and active, improve mental health, meet new people and learn new skills.
Finally, in the day time we will be able to accommodate the growing number of students who wish to train at Addict Dance Academy, these particular students will gain a Level 3 qualification in Dance and Performing Arts.
Through gaining these qualifications, opportunities will be available to the young adults, to help them into paid work or apprenticeship schemes, which will help decrease the unemployment rate in the local area.
