By Liscard Traders Association
Following the bad press Liscard received in the media in 2014, we have founded Light Up Liscard. This is a community project designed in uniting the local businesses and community.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
Light Up Liscard is a community project formed to give Liscard the festive decorations that we feel it deserves.
This project is designed to show how a community and it's businesses can all pull together for the greater good. Don't be fooled into thinking this is just about a 30ft tree at the head of Liscard Way, this project is about decorating all the trunk roads leading into Liscard; Mill Lane, Wallasey Road, Seaview Road, Rake Lane and of course Liscard Road.
We want to take a negative and turn it into a positive, help us make Liscard 2015 the best dressed town in the area, or even the country. We can either sit back and aportion blame for the past or take hold of the future and make it what we want.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
By uniting the community and local businesses we hope this can be a catalyst for the future, making the community part of the project ensures ownership and support not only in the project but the businesses and future events.
It is easy to complain, it's better to act. So lets all join as one and be united in driving Liscard and the community forward.
The actual figure we need is in excess of £25,000. Local businesses that are part of The Liscard Traders Association will be funding this direct, we are looking for the businesses and community of Wallasey, Wirral and Merseyside to show their support.
If the businesses and community do not want to contribute, this will NOT happen. It's time to pull together and work together.
