The Silver linings project
The Silver linings project joined Crowdfund Sunderland1 day ago

Our project will be a continuation of the work we have already began to provide in the city. We want to continue to offer a Solution focused therapy model of support to families of children with additional needs and life limiting conditions. As its stands up and down the country Parent/family carers of both newly & Existing diagnosed children are not currently offered any mental health support to help with the upheaval that comes with having a Disabled child and often left to try and adapt there existing life to fit with the multiple changes to lifestyle; finances; housing; and parenting that enviably follow. At Choice we want this to change not just for parents of Sunderland and South Tyneside but for all of the UK. We offer both structured and non structured mental health support that can last up to 8 weeks depending on the Parent/families needs. We Have already setup a number of referral routes with a number of different teams including Sunderland City hospitals Pediatric Team.

Lambton Community Hub needs a front door
Lambton Community Hub needs a front door joined Crowdfund Sunderland1 week ago

Lambton Community Hub is located in a former Gentoo resident's hall in Lambton Village Centre, Washington. It is now tenanted by Crafting Connections CIC, who were given the building as a Community Asset Transfer from Sunderland City Council. Crafting Connections CIC run the Hub as a community venue, delivering arts and crafts, baby and toddler groups, exercise classes, a weekly free lunch club, and a community cafe. Currently, the only way to access the building is down a side alley and through a narrow garden gate. This is causing issues in terms of accessibility for our older and less mobile residents, and in terms of local awareness of the Hub and what it offers. Crafting Connections CIC has been awarded funding to deliver support to local residents to use digital equipment and to become a safe space where local people can use the wifi for employment and educational purposes. Without a front door and an associated address, we cannot access internet provision to be able to do this.
