This new crowdfunding programme from Shropshire Council in partnership with Spacehive, is an opportunity for you to bring forward an impactful project in your neighbourhood and receive financial support from the Council and the local community - via crowdfunding - to help make it happen.

The council has two funds which it can use to support projects:

- £150,000 Shared Prosperity Community Fund (non-capital funding with a maximum pledge of £10k)

- £150,000 Shropshire Green Spaces and Active Travel Fund (capital funding with a maximum pledge of £20k)

Spacehive’s mission is to make it easy for local people to improve their local area. Spacehive has helped crowdfund over 2,000 bright ideas from local communities - and yours could be next.

The deadline to get involved in this round of Crowdfund Shropshire has been extended to 15th of May. You must have completed your pitch by this date and be verified.

See below for how to get involved.

The Heart of the Hub
The Heart of the Hub joined Crowdfund Shropshire1 day ago

Our depot is at the centre of our activities, providing us with a space to safely collect, sort, store and redistribute the rescued food we provide to the community. Seven days a week, our volunteers collect food from local supermarkets and other food businesses and bring it back to our depot. Our walk-in chiller and freezer allow us to safely handle large volumes of varied food types including ready meals, meat, and dairy. From here, the rescued food is redistributed to our 65 community partners who support disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our community. Using data from our partners, we estimate that our food reaches at least 3,300 people a week. Our depot is the critical hub of our operation, and we cannot serve our community without it. Heightened rent costs and rising energy costs threaten the future of our food saving mission. The annual cost of renting our depot is £17,100 and our utility costs are expected to double later this year.

International Women's Day Event 2025
International Women's Day Event 2025 joined Crowdfund Shropshire2 weeks ago

Started in 1911 International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Wem Rural Parish Council hosted the first ever International Women's Day Event in Wem which over 500 people attended. We would therefore like to host another event in 2025 to again celebrate the success of local women.
