The idea
The Turnpike Art Group have placed artworks by British Street Artist ATM in a number of local sites. For this new piece, we have been given permission to create a two-storey depiction of the Grey Heron - as a symbol for the plight of our threatened indigenous bird life.
What we'll deliver
- Create a unique artwork on the side of a London residential house.
Why it's a great idea
TAG champion the natural world. And through skilled artists such as ATM we can draw focus on the ever-diminishing bird life which once existed in abundance in both rural and urban landscapes. As we claim more and more green spaces for concrete developments, wildlife suffers.
The vision of a graceful heron flying overhead to a new watering spot has all but disappeared.
ATM's Heron artwork will be both beacon for change, and a trigger for education.
Steps to get it done
- Engaging the artist to spend 2-3 days painting directly onto the urban infrastructure.
